In the first actual post of 2013, I go nostalgic and begin to upload the 'best of 2012' serie.
I decided to split my favorites into a few posts and how I could not to start with the lip products.
You might already know how much I love lipsticks, lip pencils and so on, and it was quite hard to pick only a handful of favorites since in a year I tend to use many lip products and I'm not good to stick to only one or two lipsticks. Nonetheless, here they are, my favorite lipsticks, lip pencils and balms of 2012.
Come primo vero e proprio post del 2013 mi butto sull'alone nostalgico e inizio a caricare la serie dei 'the best of 2012'. Ho deciso di suddividere tutti i preferiti in più post (non volevo provocare istinti suicidi/omicidi a causa di eventuali lunghezze chilometriche) e come potevo non iniziare dai prodotti labbra. Probabilmente saprete già di essere di fronte, più o meno, ad una maniaca di rossetti in primis, ma anche di burricacao, matite et similia, ed è stato abbastanza difficile dover scegliere solo una manciata di preferiti, visto che nell'arco di un anno tendo ad utilizzare parecchi prodotti labbra e che non sono affatto brava a restare fedele solamente ad uno o due alla volta. Nonostante questo, eccolo qui, i miei rossetti, matite e burricacao preferiti del 2012!
Guerlain Rouge G in Garçonne
I couldn't not include it in my favorites of the year. A rich, sophisticated red with an amazing formula. A super quick review here.
Non potevo non includerlo nei preferiti dell'anno. Un rosso pieno e sofisticato con una formula fantastica. Una pseudo review ultra veloce qui.
MAC Ruby Woo lipstick
The name speaks for itself but I'm wanna spend some words about it anyway.
Ruby Woo is for me the nearly perfect red with a rétro vibe. It's mattest than matte, bright and I love paired it with a black winged eyeliner for a 50s look, insomuch as I can forgive its dryness - which is totally bearable though.
Il nome parla da sé e non servirebbero neppure ulteriori descrizioni, ma le farò comunque.
Per me Ruby Woo è il rosso dall'allure rétro pressoché perfetto. È matte che più matte non si può, brillante, e abbinato alla mia solita riga nera di eyeliner crea un effetto talmente anni 50 che gli perdono pure la sua secchezza (che non è nulla di drammatico comunque, sia chiaro).
MAC Ever Hip lipstick
One of my favorite coral shades of all time. Swatched here.
Uno dei rossetti coralli che più preferisco in assoluto. Swatchato qui.
MAC Peachstock lipstick
This is instead one of my favorite nudes, of all time. In the pic above it looks like it's been used once or twice but, trust me, it's due to the angle and this is one of the lipsticks I've been wearing the most actually.
It's very flattering on my skintone (such a modesty, huh?) and gives me a peachy yet natural effect without looking on the brink of fainting with concealer lips.
Questo invece è uno dei nude, che più preferisco in assoluto. Nell'immagine sopra sembra quasi che sia stato utilizzato uno o due volte ma credetemi, è solo per la prospettiva e questo è scuramente uno dei rossetti che sto indossando di più da quando ce l'ho.
Trovo che doni su una carnagione come la mia (evvai con le camionate di modestia!) e che crei l'effetto di un tono pescato ma naturale, senza farmi comunque sembrare sull'orlo di uno svenimento con delle labbra in stile correttore.
Wet 'n' Wild Mega Last in Cherry Picking
Inexpensive but extremely worthy. I'd include in this post all Wet'n'Wild Mega Last lipsticks in general (even if one or two are a bit underperforming) but this is the one I prefer and wear the most.

Economico ma davvero meritevole. In realtà includerei in questo post i Mega Last di Wet'n'Wild in generale (anche se uno o due non sono altrettanto validi) ma ho scelto questo come rappresentante dal momento che è quello che preferisco. Una pseudo review super veloce qui.
Paul & Joe Refill lipstick
This is a fairly recent love but we're already building a good and enduring relationship.
I've tried all the three finishes available and so far I'm impressed with all of them, but my favorite are the Natural and Full Pigment ones. A great formula that I recommend.

Questo è un amore abbastanza recente, ma immagino già quanto il percorso assieme sarà lungo e duraturo. Ho avuto modo di provare tutti e tre i finish disponibili e finora tutti quanti mi hanno colpita, ognuno per una sua caratteristica, anche se i miei preferiti restano quello Natural e il Full Pigment. Formula eccezionale. Qualche parola in più sulla tonalità Pret-a-porter (quella nella foto) qui.
MAC Kissable Lipcolour in So Vain
I wonder why Mac doesn't make these permanent. Seriously Mac, why oh why put in the permanent range something like Pressed Pigments and not these gorgeous Lipcolours?
I originally purchased this when it came out with the Peacocky collection almost two years ago now and love it since: it's pigmented, comfortable, not sticky and quite long lasting.

Mi domando ancora perché Mac non li renda permanenti. Davvero Mac, perché, perché mettere nel range permanente cose come i Pressed Pigments e non questi validi Lipcolour?
Questo l'avevo acquistato quand'era uscito per la prima volta con la collezione Peacocky quasi due anni fa ormai, ma ancora lo adoro da allora: pigmentato, confortevole, per nulla appiccicoso e abbastanza durevole. So Vain lo trovate swatchato qui.

Kiko Ultra Glossy Lip Pencil
I haven't talked about these Kiko pencils here on the blog yet, but I purchased the first one in July and I'm still impressed especially with 612 Magenta (the shade shown in the pic). I've tried the 605 Orange as well but it's not as good in terms of evenness. They're creamy but don't smear, are quite pigmented, comfortable and long-lasting. Not so glossy after an hour or so in my opinion, but still a worthy product.
Non ho ancora parlato di queste matite Kiko qui sul blog, ma ho acquistato la prima a luglio e ne sono ancora piacevolmente colpita, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la 612 Magenta (quella mostrata in foto). Ho provato anche la 605 Arancione ma non ha la stessa qualità in quanto a tratto ed omogeneità. Sono matite cremose ma non sbavano, sono dicretamente pigmentate, confortevoli e durano pure abbastanza. A mio avviso non sono poi così glossy dopo circa un'ora, ma ciò non toglie che siano un prodotto per me valido.
I'm still debating if I should have added in this list MAC Show Orchid or Girl About Town lipstick too, but it's done by now.
Ancora mi chiedo se avessi dovuto inserire nella lista anche Show Orchid o Girl About Town di MAC, ma ormai è fatta.
NUXE Reve de Miel
Hands down the best lip balm I've tried so far (and I'm a lip balm addict). I've been happily using it since last summer almost every night. I tried other balms but in a matter of days I always turned back to this, since my lips missed it so much.
Reve de Miel vince a man bassa il titolo di miglior burro labbra che abbia provato finora (e ne ho provati parecchi). Lo sto felicemente usando praticamente ogni sera dalla scorsa estate. Ho provato anche altri burricacao ma nel giro di giorni sono sempre ritornata a questo, visto che le mie labbra ne sentivano palesemente la mancanza.
Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine
It's a pale pink which is pretty much clear on the lips and I like using it as a day lip balm in those days when my lips are too dry for any lipstick or I have on my agenda just a lazy afternoon at home. It's soft, smooth and moisturizing.

È un rosa pallido che sulle labbra risulta pressoché trasparente e mi piace utilizzarlo come burrocacao da giorno, soprattutto nei giorni in cui le mie labbra sono troppo secche per qualunque rossetto o ho in programma semplicemente un pigro pomeriggio in casa. Lo trovo morbido ed idratante.
