Another appointment with the 'best of 2012' serie, and this is my favorite along with this one.
Blushes and foundations are some weaknesses of mine: I have too many blushes (not as many as you see in some make up collection videos at least, but they're too many anyway) and as a beauty resolution I'm trying not to buy many more - I'm trying, of course, but I don't think I'll succeed as long as some brands come out with pretty and tempting new shades (Hello Nars! Hello Illamasqua blushes! I'm looking at you).

Quando si parla di cosmetici, blush e fondotinta sono i miei punti deboli (vabè, non che non lo siano pure i rossetti in effetti): ho troppi blush (non tanti quanto in certi spaventosi video di 'makeup collection' almeno, ma sono comunque troppi a mio avviso) e come buon proposito cosmetico dell'anno avrei incluso il non comprarne molti altri - ci sto provando, certo, ma non credo riuscirò nell'intento finché certi marchi se ne escono con novità che attentano al portafoglio (Ciao Nars! Ciao blush di Illamasqua! Vi sto guardando).

Due to my warm skintone, cool pink blushes are not usually very flattering on me but this one is different. It adjusts the color reacting with skin's pH and on me in fact the final shade is nothing alike the one in the pan as it's warmer and creates a bonne-mine look, which I like a lot.

Dato il mio incarnato dalla base calda, i blush rosa freddi non sono solitamente quelli che mi donano di più ma questo è differente, aggiusta il colore reagendo col pH della pelle. La tonalità finale su di me è ben diversa da quella della cialda in sé, meno rosa e più calda, di quelle da perfetto stile bonne-mine, il che mi piace parecchio.
MAC Mighty Aprhodite
I drop some words about this here. I'd like to review it in depth but it would be pretty much useless I'm afraid, since it's a limited edition blush no longer available.
Avevo speso alcune parole su questo blush qui. Mi piacerebbe recensirlo come si deve ma sarebbe abbastanza inutile temo, dal momento che purtroppo era un'edizione limitata non più disponibile.

NARS Sin
I ordered it back in November 2012 but two months have been enough to understand how gorgeous it is and how much I like it. A beautiful everyday shade with an oomph (a.k.a. shimmer) that doesn't look too much though. The color is pretty 'meh' (what a professional verbiage I have!) in the pan but once applied it comes to life, warming up the complexion without being muddy or too dark even on a pale skintone like mine.
Did I mention it also has an amazing formulation? Formula wise, infact it really is one of the top blushes in the Nars line.
L'ho ordinato solo nel novembre 2012 ma due mesi sono già stati abbastanza per capire quanto è splendido e quanto mi piaccia. Una tonalità da tutti i giorni ma con quel qualcosa in più (aka shimmer) ma che non risulta 'troppo'. Il colore nella cialda non è nulla di che ma una volta applicato si anima, scaldando il viso senza risultare una chiazza scura, neppure su una carnagione chiara come la mia.
Ho già detto che ha anche una formulazione eccezionale? La formula infatti è davvero una delle migliori tra i vari blush di Nars.
NARS Laguna
I hardly ever wear bronzer and haven't got hooked by them (yet), nonetheless in summer I applied a touch of bronzer every now and then. So, for the 'bronzer category' I nominate Nars Laguna.
I remember the first time I opened the lid and saw it in person: "This is the bronzer supposed to be suitable even for light complexions? This will only be so dark that Snooki will be jealous!". I was wrong.
Don't let the pan fools you, Laguna is actually suitable for light skin tones as well (not for the fairest though): it's easily blendable, buildable and doesn't look muddy nor orangey on me (in the pic it looks warmer than it actually is).
Non uso quasi mai i bronzer e non è una tipologia di prodotto che - per fortuna e per ora - mi ha rapita e mi spinge a comprarne in quantità, ma ciò nonostante in estate un velo leggero di terra ogni tanto lo applico. Quindi, per la categoria 'bronzer', nomino Laguna di Nars.
Ricordo ancora che quando l'avevo aperto e visto per la prima volta dal vivo ho pensato: "E questo sarebbe il bronzer che dovrebbe essere adatto anche alle carnagioni chiare? Ma vaaà, questo creerà solo una chiazza marrone indefinita e farò invidia a Snooki". Avevo torto.
Non fatevi ingannare dal colore della cialda, Laguna è realmente adatto anche a chi ha un incarnato chiaro (non di una chiarezza nordica però): si sfuma facilmente ed il risultato che crea non è né arancione né quello di una macchia marrone (nell'immagine sembra un po' più caldo rispetto a quanto lo sia di persona).
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in pearl
I don't own the full size but only a sample the lovely blogger Beatrice (strawberrymakeupbag.blogspot.com) gave me, therefore I've been using it drop by drop.
I don't exaggerate when I say it's one of the best highlighters I've tried so far, quite visible for my 'only soft highlighters thank you' standards if applied straight onto the cheekbones, but I do like it and the glow it yields is simply beautiful.

Non esagero quando dico che è tra gli illuminanti più belli che abbia provato finora, abbastanza vistoso per i miei standard da 'solo illuminanti leggeri grazie', se applicato direttamente sullo zigomo, ma mi piace e la luminosità che dona è semplicemente...bella, sana.

MAC Play it Proper beauty powder
My all time favorite highlighter that reconfirms its status even this year. I told you I usually prefer a subtle and not too obvious higlighting for a daily use and this Beauty Powder with its pearly finish works like a charm for that purpose. Unfortunately it was a limited edition, so there's no point in going into details (Mac, trust me, you have to repromote this beauty again).
Ed eccolo qui, il mio illuminante preferito che anche quest'anno riconferma il suo titolo. Ve l'ho detto che di norma preferisco highlighter soft e non troppo artificiali, soprattutto per un utilizzo quotidiano, e questa Beauty Powder col suo finish quasi perlato fa proprio al caso mio.
Sfortunatamente era un'edizione limitata quindi temo non abbia molto senso scendere in ulteriori dettagli (Mac, fidati, devi riproporre di nuovo cotanta beltade).
NARS Orgasm illuminator
If a product can be used for more than one purpose, then it's worth even more to me.
I also included it in my favorites of July and not much have changed since then. I still like it insomuch as I still think to purchase the full size once I run out of this sample size.
I love mixing it with foundation (especially Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum) for a radiance boost but also applied on the cheekbones for a diffused highlighting.

Questo l'avevo incluso anche nei preferiti di luglio e non molto è cambiato da allora. Mi piace ancora talmente tanto da considerare l'acquisto della full size, una volta terminata questa versione mini.
Adoro mescolarlo al fondotinta (soprattutto il Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum) per una botta di radiosità in più, ma anche applicato sugli zigomi per un effetto illuminante diffuso.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua
I never mentioned it on the blog and yet it's an all time favorites of mine.
I tried other foundations which were supposed to be 'dupes' but no, I haven't found something exactly like this yet. I always go for it when I look for an invisible (in a good way) foundation that acts like a second skin even if someone stares at my face only 5 inches away - in fact it's the one I use on special occasions. It works great with my dry skin but the good news is that I heard people with combination, normal and even with oily skin love this foundation as well.

Ho provato altri fondotinta che dovevano teoricamente essere 'dupe' ma niente da fare, devo ancora trovare qualcosa che sia esattamente come il Vitalumière Aqua.
Lo scelgo sempre quando ricerco un fondotinta invisibile (in senso positivo) che agisca come una sorta di seconda pelle, anche nel caso che qualcuno mi fissasse a 10cm di distanza - e non a caso è il fondotinta che ho adibito alle occasioni speciali. Si sposa a meraviglia su una pelle secca, ma la buona notizia è che ho sentito ragazze con una tipologia di pelle mista, ed anche a tendenza oleosa, che lo adorano altrettanto.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
I've been alternating this with the YSL foundation every other day.
I talked about it here but since then something have changed: for example, I like it even more.
Now I truly appreciate the dewy finish and the consistency, which is not exactly like gel, but similar though. It's a quite inexpensive but extremely worthy foundation!
(unless you have an oily skin type, in that case I do not recommend it at all)

Ne avevo parlato brevemente qui ma da quel post qualcosa è cambiato: mi piace ancora di più, ad esempio. Ora riesco ad apprezzarne pienamente il finish dewy, luminoso, e la sua consistenza - che non è esattamente come gel, ma qualcosa di simile.
Lo trovo un fondotinta non costoso ma estremamente valido!
(a meno che la vostra pelle non tenda ad essere oleosa, in quel caso non lo consiglierei davvero)
MAC Careblend Pressed Powder in Light Plus
It's my one and only colored powder and I'm quite satisfied.
Having such dry skin I don't look for a super mattifying powder but for a one that gives me a matte complexion without drying the skin or looking cakey. And this does the job pretty well. It's also slightly pigmented so helps to even out the complexion a bit.
By the way, one of my beauty goals for 2013 is going through this powder (and I've touched the pan a few days ago, hooray!).
È la mia sola ed unica cipria colorata attuale e ne sono abbastanza soddisfatta.
Avendo la pelle secca non ricerco una cipria ultra mattificante o che assorba il sebo ma, anzi, che mi doni sì un effetto matte ma senza seccare ancor di più la pelle o farla sembrare gessosa.
E questa di Mac fa egregiamente il suo lavoro. È anche leggermente pigmentata e aiuta quindi ad uniformare un po' l'incarnato.
Tra l'altro, uno dei miei buoni propositi cosmetici per il 2013 è arrivarne in fondo (e sono giunta al pan metallico pochi giorni fa, olé!).
MUFE HD powder
I love how it refines the complexion making it looks like doll skin, I also love the soft focus finish it gives and how it mattifies. I just need the tiniest amount to make the 'magic' happens. Maybe I'm going dramatic, but for me it looks like a light-handed version of Photoshop blur filter in a jar.
The only downfall is it could be a bit drying for my skin if used for many days in a row so I apply it on specific occasions or every other day, and not on a daily basis.
Amo come rifinisce l'incarnato facendo sembrare la pelle quasi da bambola, adoro anche il finish 'soft focus' che crea e come opacizza. Me ne serve giusto una quantità infinitesimale per far accadere la 'magia'. Forse sto un po' esagerando, ma per me è una sorta di leggero filtro 'blur' di Photoshop in jar. L'unico difetto è che potrebbe seccare un po' la (mia) pelle se usata per più molti giorni di fila e quindi la applico sempre in determinate occasioni o ogni altro giorno, anziché quotidianamente.
