Avevo già postato un'anteprima nel post haul Neve Cosmetics ma è ora tempo di dire i miei due centesimi su questa nuova aggiunta alla linea: il blush Urban Fairy, uscito con la collezione Immaginaria.
According to Neve's official description, Urban fairy is a "light brick rose with subtle bud green sheen". It's an easy shade to wear but at the same time is kind of complex and it's not just a simple and plain rose color. The said 'green sheen' may sound scary and I guess most of you don't wanna go outside looking like E.T.
But I have good news: you won't look like E.T. because the green component is extremely subtle, so much so that it's barely detectable even in the jar.
At a first glance, I couldn't see it at all. I took a careful look at the jar in different lights but the green sheen was apparently more than shy. I managed to spot it only under a white bulb in the evening (yeah, I felt a bit like a detective actually).
I know that you can actually see the green shimmer - at least I hope so - in the pics below but those are macro shots and I swear it's not that visible to the naked eye.
Where does this shy green sheen go once on the cheeks? That's a good one: it disappears, leaving behind just a pretty, standard sheen - which is maybe slightly on the warmer side.
Really, I looked at my face in direct sunlight, indirect sunlight, artificial light, neon, bulb, you name it, the green simply doesn't show up.
The result, however, is a beautiful brick rose with a (can I say gorgeous anyway?) sheen, which acts as a blush and a highlighter all in one.
It may sound 'too much' and too shimmery but it isn't, because its highlighting ability gets obvious only on the right spots hit by the light - in other words, it won't make you look like a discoball.

È un colore facile da portare ma allo stesso tempo ha una sua complessità e non è un semplice e banale rosato. I suddetti "riflessi verde germoglio" poi possono intimidire e presumo che la maggior parte di voi non desideri ardentemente uscire di casa ricordando E.T.
Ma ho buone notizie: non sembrerete affatto E.T. perché la componente verde è talmente leggera da risultate appena impercettibile persino nella jar.
Anzi ad una prima occhiata, io il verde non sono riuscita a vederlo per nulla. Ho provato ad osservare attentamente la jar sotto diverse luci ma il riflesso verde apparentemente era più che timido. Sono riuscita a scorgerlo solo sotto la luce di una lampadina bianca, in una stanza al buio (roba che manco i detective insomma).
So che si riesce effettivamente a vedere questi shimmer verdi - o almeno spero - nelle foto qua sotto ma quelle sono comunque delle immagini macro e giuro che il tutto non è visibile ad occhio nudo.
Ma dove va questo riflesso verde una volta applicato il blush? Buona domanda: svanisce, lasciandosi dietro giusto un normale ma apprezzabile riflesso luminoso - che vira un po' sul caldo forse.
Davvero, ho scrutato il mio viso sotto la luce diretta del sole, quella indiretta, sotto la luce artificiale, neon, lampadina, qualqunque ma niente, il verde semplicemente non viene fuori.
Il risultato tuttavia è un bellissimo rosa mattone con un (posso dire splendido comunque?) riflesso, che si comporta da blush e da illuminante tutto in uno.
Detta così può sembrare sia 'troppo' e troppo shimmer ma non lo è, perché la capacità illuminante diventa ovvia solo nei giusti punti colpiti dalla luce - in altre parole, non sembrerete il revival di una palla da discoteca anni '70.
As for the texture, I was definitely impressed by it. I hadn't bought a mineral blush in literally years because I didn't like very much the ones I tried: they were sheer, too shimmer and didn't stay on my cheeks for long. But this (and the others I talked about here) are a different story.
Urban Fairy is rather finely milled, very pigmented yet easy to blend and manage. It also applies smoothly and evenly and, as a big bonus, on me it lasts even for 5-6 hours like some high-end blushes.
Furthermore, if you're concerned by makeup ingredients and want to avoid some all those "nasties", you might enjoy such a product, since it's a true mineral blush - because we all know that not every supposed "mineral" product is actually mineral, right? ;)
Given the price of the mini jar (less than 4€) combined with the quality of the blush itself, I can't shut the little voice in my head that keeps telling me: "Girl, that's a steal!"
Per quanto riguarda la texture, mi ha decisamente colpita. Non compravo un blush minerale da anni, letteralmente, perché quelli provati non mi erano piaciuti poi molto: erano sheer, troppo shimmer e non restavano sul viso molto a lungo. Ma questo (ed anche gli altri presenti qui a dir il vero) sono tutta un'altra storia.
Urban Fairy ha una grana discretamente fina, è molto pigmentato ma al contempo facile da sfumare e da utilizzare. L'applicazione è inoltre uniforme e semplice e, come bonus non da poco, su di me riesce a durate anche per 5-6 ore, come alcuni blush di marchi più costosi.
Inoltre, se prestate attenzione agli ingredienti dei vostri cosmetici e volete evitare quelli meno 'verdi', presumo che un prodotto simile vi possa piacere ancor di più, dal momento che si tratta di un blush minerale a tutti gli effetti - perché ormai sappiamo che non tutti i cosiddetti prodotti "minerali" sono in realtà tali, no? ;)
Visto il prezzo della mini jar (3,90€) combinato con la qualità del blush in sé, non riesco a zittire quella voce che continua a dirmi: "Oh Ale, questo è un affare!".

In a nutshell, I do like this blush. It's not one of those 'universally' flattering shades. I can see it working easily on warmer complexions due to the remarkably warm brick base, but I know some people with cool undertones love it too.

Riassumendo, mi piace parecchio questo blush (e fin qui nessuno l'avevo intuito, uhm...).
Non è una di quelle tonalità "universali" - ammesso ne esista davvero una. Lo vedo funzionare facilmente sulle carnagioni calde, vista la sua base rosa mattone spiccatamente calda, ma so di persone col sottotono freddo che lo stanno comunque felicemente amando.

On the lips
Like many mineral blushes, Urban Fairy is lip safe and can be used on the lips as well: just mix it with a clear gloss and you're done!
However, the resulting color doesn't appeal me too much: in fact once you put a bit of a blush into the poured ligloss, the blush changes color and becomes deeper and, in this specific case, enphasizes the brick hue. The result is a brownish, pearlescent nude/MLBB: not my kind of color actually.

Come molti blush minerali, Urban Fairy è lip safe e può essere usato anche sulle labbra: basta mixarlo con un gloss trasparente et voilà.
Però il colore risultante non mi attira molto: una volta che aggiungete un po' di blush al gloss versato, il blush cambia infatti colore diventando più intenso e, in questo caso specifico, enfatizza il suo tono mattone. Il risultato è un nude/MLBB sul marrone e perlescente: non il mio genere, a dir il vero.
Però il colore risultante non mi attira molto: una volta che aggiungete un po' di blush al gloss versato, il blush cambia infatti colore diventando più intenso e, in questo caso specifico, enfatizza il suo tono mattone. Il risultato è un nude/MLBB sul marrone e perlescente: non il mio genere, a dir il vero.
