E siamo alla seconda parte dei 'best of 2012'. Questa però potrebbe risultare la più noiosa di tutte perché, vi avviso, quando si tratta di ombretti non sono esattamente la persona più creativa e colorata. Quindi, se siete amanti delle tonalià accese e vivaci sugli occhi, afferrate una tazza di caffé e cercate di non addormentarvi man mano che scorrete il post. ;)
Benefit BadGal lash mascara
This is my favorite mascara. It really volumizes, doesn't make the lashes clump together and for what I can remember (I used it up months ago) it seemed to me it curved my lashes as well. In my opinion this is on a way higher level than the infamous They're Real (which I'm not a fan of).
Direi di poterlo definire il mio mascara preferito tra quelli che ho provato finora. Volumizza parecchio, separa le ciglia senza incollarle tristemente tra loro e da quello che ricordo (l'ho terminato mesi e mesi fa) mi sembra che aiutasse anche un po' nell'incurvatura. Per me è su tutto un altro livello rispetto al tanto chiaccherato They're Real (di cui non sono una fan).
Urban Decay 24/7 eye liner in Perversion
It's a really pigmented and intense black pencil with a matte finish. Its texture is creamy but not too much - more creamy than other Urban Decay 24/7 liners though.
It doesn't last extremely well on the waterline - to be honest most eyeliners don't really last on my waterline - but it does the job well if used to line the lid.
I don't usually use it as a base for dark smokey eyes but it's blendable and suitable for that purpose as well.
Un nero davvero intenso, pigmentato, dal finish matte. La sua texture è cremosa ma non in modo eccessivo - anche se lo è di più rispetto a molte altre matite 24/7 di Urban Decay.
La durata nella rima interna non è un granché - però su di me difficilmente una matita dura un tempo accettabile se applicata nella rima interna, devo dirlo - ma se è invece utilizzato come eyeliner si batte bene. Inoltre, per quanto di solito non la usi come base per degli smokey scuri, è sfumabile e adatta anche a quello scopo.
MAC Avenue fluidline
"You create a black winged liner almost everyday and you don't even mention a black eyeliner?". I'm afraid so. I have only one black cream eyeliner, but just because I use it very often doesn't mean I love it - it's the Essence one and despite I quite like it, I'm not completely convinced.
So I prefer to mention a(nother!) limited edition by Mac that should be added to the permanent line straight away: it's a dark brown with the tiniest golden glitter in it. It's sparkling but without being over the top and the formula is excellent as well.
"Ma come, quasi ogni giorno vai di eyeliner nero e non ne citi nemmeno uno, nero?". Temo sia così.
Ho solo un eyeliner nero in crema, ma l'utilizzarlo spesso non significa per forza che lo adori - è quello di Essence, che mi piace abbastanza ma non mi convince appieno.
E quindi preferisco includere nel post questa vecchia edizione limitata (e te pareva) di Mac che meriterebbe di essere aggiunto di filata alla linea permanente: è un marrone scuro con micro (micro) glitter dorati che lo rendono luminoso ma senza strafare. Formula e durata, ottime.
MAC Bare Study and Nubile paint pots
I'm usually in a rush when I get ready to go somewhere. This means I don't have a lot of time to do my makeup and I usually preferred to skip the eyeshadow step but these two paint pots ended up being very handy when I'm in a hurry. They're easy and quick to apply and yield a natural effect but with a twist. Paint pots don't last more than 3 hours on me without (slightly) getting into the fine lines, but a primer underneath makes them last all day.
I already talked about Bare Study here - Nubile was instead a limited edition but I was told it's similar to Painterly, which is a permanent shade.
Di norma sono sempre di corsa quando devo prepararmi per uscire. Ciò significa che non sempre ho molto tempo da dedicare al makeup e la parte che preferisco saltare è quella dell'ombretto (quante sono già svenute?). Questi due paint pot sono quelli che si sono rivelati utili in questi casi: comodi, facili e veloci da usare, con un effetto naturale ma con quel tocco in più. Non mi durano più di 3 ore circa senza infilarsi (leggermente) nelle pieghe della palpebra, ma un primer al di sotto li fa durare tutta la giornata. Bare Study l'avevo già menzionato qui, mentre Nubile è un'altra edizione limitata ma mi hanno detto essere un po' simile a Painterly, colore permanente.
Essence I Love Extreme Mascara
I'm at my second tube and that says it all. Inexpensive, volumizing and dramatic - could I ask for more form a mascara? Maybe that it makes my lashes look like hers, for example, but that would be impossible, I'm afraid.
The formula dryes out rather quickly (in some weeks) in the tube but the effect is so great on my short and sparse lashes I can forgive it for that.
Sono già alla seconda confezione di questo mascara, il che già dice tutto. Economico, volumizzante e con un effetto vagamente drammatico pure sulle mie ciglia un po' sfigate (che tecnicismi, che termini professionali!). Potrei chiedere di più da un mascara? Forse sì, che mi rendesse le ciglia come le sue, ad esempio, ma ho come l'impressione che sfoceremmo nel fantascientifico.
La formula tende a seccarsi in poco tempo (qualche settimana) ma l'effetto merita talmente tanto che posso perdonargli questo aspetto.
Maybelline The Eraser concealer
I struggle with genetic undereye circles, so a good concealer is key for me. This is not a high coverage one, but it has the right tone to counteract my dark circles and the right (light) consistency to not emphasize the dryness of my eye area - which always occurs with heavy concealers.
Ormai è nota la mia lotta alle occhiaie scure e pesanti, quindi un buon correttore è per me un fattore chiave. Questo non è uno di quei correttori ad alta coprenza, ma ha il tono giusto per contrastare la mia occhiaia ed anche la giusta consistenza leggera per non enfatizzare la secchezza del mio contorno occhi - cosa che invece capita regolarmente con correttori più pesanti.
OCC Conceal concealer
I dare to say this is the best concealer I've tried so far. Its formula is kinda unique in a sense: the coverage is high but at the same time the creamy texture blends beautifully with the skin without looking cakey.
Once set with powder, it lasts pretty well for hours without going into fine lines or feeling drying. Furthermore, the shade I got, Y1, is the perfect match for my skintone - I think I don't even have a foundation that matches me s perfectly (sometimes online shopping comes to a satisfactory conclusion!). Overall, I truly recommend to give this concealer a try.

Oserei dire che questo è il miglior correttore che abbia provato finora. La sua formula è in un certo senso unica: la coprenza è elevata ma allo stesso tempo la texture è cremosa e si fonde facilmente e in modo davvero apprezzabile con la pelle, senza creare l'effetto postoso-barra-cerone.
Una volta che viene fissato con un po' di cipria resiste bene per ore senza infilarsi nelle linee d'espressione e senza seccare. In più, come se già tutto ciò non me lo facesse amare abbastanza, la tonalità Y1 che ho preso è pressoché perfetta per il mio incarnato - anzi, penso di non aver neppure un fondotinta il cui colore sia altrettanto perfetto (talvolta lo shopping online va a buon fine!).
Consiglio vivamente di dargli una chance.

Urban Decay Rollergirl palette
It's an old limited edition palette (I think it was released in Autumn 2011) that I got it during Sephora winter sales a year ago for only 10€ and I've been using it a lot since then, Woodstock - the fuchsia shade - excepted (can you tell I like nude eyeshadows better?).
È una vecchia edizione limitata (penso sia uscita nell'autunno 2011) che ho preso da Sephora durante gli scorsi saldi invernali per soli 10€ e che ho usato parecchio da allora, Woodstock - il fucsia - a parte. (Non lo direste mai che preferisco ombretti più naturali, vero?).
PS: Ma quanto sono deludenti i saldi di Sephora quest'anno?
Urban Decay Original Naked palette
I'm so predictable when it comes to eyeshadows. Call me boring, but the Naked palette does deserve a place in this post. I like almost every shade and 11 out of 12 have a great quality - I do like the 12th shade as well, but the fall-out is quite annoying (Sidecar, I'm looking at you). Overall, this palette has become a staple in my makeup stash.
Sono così prevedibile quando si tratta di ombretti...Chiamatemi pure noiosa, ma la Naked davvero si merita un posto - e di rilievo magari - in questo post. Mi piace praticamente ogni tonalità che contiene e 11 ombretti su 12 li trovo inoltre di gran qualità - in realtà mi piace moltissimo anche l'effetto che crea il 12° ombretto, ma il fall-out scoccia abbastanza (Sidecar, sto guardando te). La Naked è diventata uno dei miei prodotti 'mai più senza' e, checchesenedica, la ricomprerei altre mille volte.
Inglot n°368, 330, 327 matte eyeshadows
These are my first Inglot eyeshadows ever, which convinced me to get more shades.
Good quality at a good price. The peachy one is quite powdery when you swirl the brush on the pan but the texture is kinda 'creamy' in a sense and compact at the same time (if this makes sense). It applies nicely on the lid creating a not chalky effect. The other two are quite pigmented and really blendable. Over a primer they last all day without losing vibrancy.
Questi sono i primissimi ombretti Inglot che ho provato, nonché quelli che mi hanno convinta ad acquistarne altri. Buona qualità ad un buon prezzo (sembra uno spot ma la Inglot non mi paga...).
Quello pesca si rivela abbastanza polveroso quando si passa il pennello sulla cialda, ma la texture è in un certo senso 'cremosa' e compatta allo stesso tempo (mi rendo conto abbia poco senso detta così). Sulla palpebra infatti si applica bene e l'effetto che crea non è gessoso. Gli altri due sono abbastanza pigmentati e molto sfumabili. Sopra ad un primer a me durano tutto il giorno senza perdere molto in vivacità.
